With trade rumors swirling everyday, we learn more about potential moves the Brooklyn Nets can make before Thursday’s trade deadline. The latest trade rumor for the Nets surrounds swingman Bojan Bogdanovic.

With the current situation the Brooklyn Nets are currently in, it’s silly to think they won’t at least try to make one move come 3:00 PM on Thursday. We heard news earlier this week about how the New Orleans Pelicans were interested in acquiring 7-footer Brook Lopez from the Nets. Now, we hear that the Washington Wizards are interested in wing players, which could include the Nets’ Bojan Bogdanovic.

In a pre-deadline discussion on The Vertical with Chris Mannix, Adrian Wojnarowski hinted that the Washington Wizards will be looking for a wing player as the deadline approaches, and he specifically mentioned Bogdanovic.

Wojnarowski added that Washington may possibly be willing to give up a first-round draft pick that could potentially be for this year’s draft, “to get a veteran who may even turn out to be a rental.”

More from Nothin' But Nets

As far as what the Nets could receive in terms of draft picks, the Wizards currently own the 24th pick in this year’s draft, only two spots lower than what the Nets would currently receive in the pick swap with the Boston Celtics.

Woj also noted that since there are plenty of teams with traditional bigs, the Nets shouldn’t expect a big return for Lopez, even though he is the most accomplished. With that said, it sounds like GM Sean Marks and the Nets front office will try to be as active as possible before the clock strikes 3:00 on Thursday afternoon.

With plenty of options, it’s interesting to think about what the Nets could do this upcoming week. Should they trade an expiring Bogdanovic who will be a restricted free agent this upcoming offseason? Or should they take on a salary dump to try, as Bobby Marks put it on the Glue Guys Podcast, “hit singles and doubles,” rather than home runs? And finally, should they give up Lopez for a package that includes multiple players and a draft pick or two?

There are some interesting scenarios there, but if there’s one thing that’s for certain, the Nets can look for under-the-radar players who are being put on the market by their current teams. This Nets team can look completely different come Friday night in Denver.
