The Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards are headed in opposite directions in the standings coming into Monday’s matchup in Washington.

The Wizards have lost six straight games, finally regressing after a strong start to the season that wasn’t supported by their season-long statistics.

Washington had been over .500 with a bottom-10 net rating in the league, now the team is 11-16 and ranks 25th in the league in net rating.

Brooklyn, on the other hand, has won eight of its last 10 games to move into the No. 4 spot in the Eastern Conference. Kevin Durant is playing terrific basketball as of late, averaging 30.0 points per game on the season and 32.8 points over his last eight contests.

After beating the Indiana Pacers without Ben Simmons and Durant, the Nets are expected to have both in the lineup on Monday.

The Wizards are down a few players, including star Bradley Beal, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Beal’s injury has led to Brooklyn being favored on the road, but can the Nets cover the number tonight?

Let’s take a look at the latest odds and make a pick for this game:

Nets vs. Wizards Prediction and Pick

There’s absolutely no way I’d trust Washington right now, especially from a betting perspective.

The Wizards have covered the spread just twice in their last 13 games, and the team is one of the worst ATS teams in the league, going 10-14-3 this season.

Brooklyn hasn’t been dominant against the spread, but the team has way more firepower on offense with Beal out for Washington. The Nets are also playing their best basketball of the season at the moment.

With Durant coming into this game fresh off a rest day, the Nets should be able to win and cover on the road.

Brooklyn is 13th in the league in net rating and ninth in offensive rating. The Wizards are 21st in defensive rating and started this losing streak with a six-point loss to the Nets in Brooklyn with Beal healthy.

Don’t overthink this game and wager on the Nets to win big.
