The Nets look to extend their league best 12-game winning streak in Chicago on Wednesday night.
Brooklyn can tie the Boston Celtics for the best record in the NBA on Wednesday against a Bulls team that is on the heels of allowing 71 points to Donovan Mitchell on Monday night. It has been a tough season for the Bulls, who are far off their lofty expectations with the star power on their roster, just 16-21 this season.
Meanwhile, the Nets are rolling on both sides, can they keep it up?
Here are the odds for Wednesday’s matchup:
Nets vs. Bulls Odds, Spread and Total
Nets vs. Bulls Prediction and Pick
Brooklyn’s offense has been performing at historic levels since the start of December, posting an offensive rating of 121.4, which would shatter the season long record of 118.4 (set by the 2020-2021 Nets). However, the defense has been what has fueled this run. The Nets are now a top 10 defense on the season and are the No. 1 offense and defense over the last two weeks, per Cleaning The Glass.
The Chicago defense is below league average, but both teams are bottom half in terms of pace, which can lead to limited possessions. With a total this high, you likely need both teams to get going offensively, and I’m not sure if Chicago’s pace and offense will take advantage of the Nets, who are humming on the defensive side of the ball and can switch onto the Bulls wings such as DeMar DeRozan and Zach Lavine.
Overall, I’m going to side with the under as the Nets should shut down Chicago’s offense and keep this game below the expectation.
