Jeremy Lin is known for two things: the “Linsanity” era in New York and his ever-changing hairstyles. He has rocked everything from a bowl-cut to a mohawk.

If we had to guess what direction Jeremy Lin’s career would go after his stint with the Knicks, we would’ve been wrong. Lin seemed to be soaring higher in his career, and his hair appeared relatively normal. Both his playing and hair careers would take a completely different turn.

After his thrilling season in New York, Lin went on to play brief stints with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Charlotte Hornets. The “Linsanity” hysteria died down and Lin’s short time with the Rockets and Lakers were disappointing. It wasn’t until last season with the Hornets that Lin brought his reputation back up, establishing himself as an effective role player. Charlotte was also where Lin began displaying wacky, outrageous hairstyles.

Jeremy Lin’s flamboyant hairdos have drawn a lot of attention from NBA announcers and with the Internet. Every new hairstyle from Lin generates a huge reaction from fans on Twitter. He never fails to surprise them with which look he reveals next.

Perhaps his most notable cut on the Hornets was the spiked mohawk. Lin’s spiky hair certainly drew the most attention from the Internet. It was quite possibly the most dangerous hairstyle that ever existed. During a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Lin was called for a foul after his sharp hair poked Jerryd Bayless in the eye. It’s safe to say he probably won’t be using that style in Brooklyn.

Lin made a statement at the Nets introductory press conference, where he sported cornrows. A look made popular by former Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson. If that’s what he chooses to rock this season, I hope he can match at least half of Iverson’s abilities.

We’ll likely be seeing more funky hairdos from Lin. Maybe there will be a positive correlation between his hairstyles and his productivity.
