It’s been a season of near-misses, silver linings and moral victories thus far for the 6-13 Nets. But the Eastern Conference landscape is conducive to improbable improvement stories and the Nets feel that their record should be better, so more wins had better start coming fast. They’ll have an opportunity tonight in Charlotte against the Bobcats, but they’ll still be without their point guard, Devin Harris, for at least this one more game.
The Bobcats are just a half-game up on the Nets in the East standings and have lost four of their last five. After the departures of Raymond Felton and Tyson Chandler, this certainly doesn’t look like the same team that qualified for the Eastern Conference playoffs a season ago.
