Week in review: Nets top Hawks for second time

The Nets picked up their eighth win of the season on Sunday afternoon against the Hawks in Newark with an 89-82 victory. The Nets have already played Atlanta three times on the season and have defeated the 19-13 Hawks twice. It was the Nets’ third consecutive Sunday matinee at the Prudential Center after losses to the Celtics and the Lakers in previous weeks.

Devin Harris led the way with 22 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Newly-acquired Sasha Vujacic had a strong game off the bench with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals and a game-best plus-minus of plus-23. Brook Lopez finished with 16 points, while Stephen Graham, starting at shooting guard for the injured Anthony Morrow, scored 10 points.

The second unit was the story of the game for the Nets, as Vujacic, Troy Murphy, Jordan Farmar and Derrick Favors combined for 28 points and each had a double-digit plus-minus.

The Hawks shot just 39 percent from the field. They were led by Mike Bibby’s 19 points, while Josh Smith and Al Horford added 15 apiece and Joe Johnson scored 14 on just 4-of-16 shooting.
