Week in review: Harris injured as Nets crushed by Wizards

The Nets, despite winning just two of every seven games they’d played heading into their Friday night matchup with the Washington Wizards, have largely avoided getting blown out in many games this season, giving hope that maybe things are close to turning around. Anyone hopeful that improvement is still on the horizon for the Nets may have done well to avoid viewing even a single minute of New Jersey’s disappointing 97-77 defeat at the hands of the lowly Wizards.

Washington finished with five scorers in double figures, led by Rashard Lewis and Nick Young.

The Nets, meanwhile, lost Devin Harris to a quad injury and didn’t put up much of a fight without their star point guard. Brook Lopez and Jordan Farmar tied for the team lead in scoring with 14 points apiece. New Jersey shot under 35 percent, “led” by Sasha Vujacic’s 1-of-14 night from the field.
