Could Marshon Brooks Be On His Way to Minnesota?
By Jonah Mars
Marshon Brooks
According to Brooklyn Nets beat writer Stefan Bondy, the latest Nets trade rumor has second year guard Marshon Brooks on his way to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In the proposed trade, the Nets would get back one of Minnesota’s backup point guards, J.J. Barea (who was Jason Kidd’s teammate in Dallas) or Luke Ridnour. There is also a possibility that the trade could include other players, like Kris Humphries and Andrei Kirilenko, or draft picks. The Nets have the #22 pick on Thursday while Minnesota picks at #26.
According to Bondy, who says he has multiple sources saying Marshon could be going to Minnesota, he has not actually heard which players the Nets would be getting back in the trade.
This is not my favorite trade proposal I’ve heard about where the Nets could be sending Marshon, but it seems to be getting more and more likely that he will not return to Brooklyn next season.
Brooks has no relationship with the current coaching staff and his work ethic may be in question after not showing any improvement from his first season to his second. He could definitely use a change of scenery and Minnesota may be a good spot for him to land.
