Brooklyn Nets Host Phoenix Suns in Playoff Positioning Battle

Tonight, the Brooklyn Nets will host the Phoenix Suns and the Nets need to win to keep up with the Washington Wizards, two days after the Nets lost against them. The Suns are a group that really needs to win to get closer to Memphis and Dallas in the race to earn a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Suns played against the Toronto Raptors last night, and Phoenix earned an important and difficult victory. Today’s game is important for both teams and this game will likely be fun to watch.

For Phoenix, there is a player who played for the New Jersey Nets two years ago and now is probably the most improved player in the league, Gerald Green. Green may play very well tonight. Phoenix also has two good point guards, Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic. Phoenix also has the twin of the Nets’ Mason Plumlee, Miles Plumlee. The two twins have played well this season and it will be fun to see who among them will play better tonight. There is another pair of twins playing tonight for Phoenix: Marcus and Markieff Morris.

Again, the Nets will miss Kevin Garnett due to his back injury. He will not play all week and will be re-evaluated by a doctor on Saturday.

Deron Williams vs Eric Bledsoe. Advantage: Bledsoe

Bledsoe is an extremely improved played and recently, he recovered from his injury and returned to the court. He played very well against the Raptors yesterday. Deron Williams needs to play very well tonight to keep up with Bledsoe.

Shaun Livingston vs Goran Dragic. Advantage: Dragic

Dragic could have been all star this this season and he has played very well all season. He will be very difficult to limit tonight.

Joe Johnson vs Gerald Green. Advantage: Green

Gerald Green can score in a lot of ways and Johnson generally can not score like him. Green will likely want to play well against his old team. Green will not start the game – PJ Tucker will start, but it is likely that Green will get more playing time than Tucker. The last time these two teams played each other, Johnson scored at the buzzer to earn a victory for Brooklyn in Phoenix.

Paul Pierce vs Channing Frye. Advantage: Pierce

Paul Pierce has to play well today and once again be the Brooklyn’s leader. He will need to score a lot in the second half.

Mason Plumlee vs Miles Plumlee. Advantage: coin toss

Both will be fun to watch play against each other. Miles is likely to collect more points and rebounds because he probably will play for longer tonight, but his twin on the Nets, Mason, has played very well recently.

My prediction: the Nets will lose tonight, 103-100.
