Potential Andrei Kirilenko Trades

Andrei Kirilenko is not going to be a Brooklyn Net for much longer and there are numerous parties interested in Kirilenko’s services. Let’s take a look at a few potential trades that we may see happen involving Kirilenko.

This is a trade that has been talked about between the two teams and this deal is currently looked at as one of the offers that the Nets are taking a long look at. Jeremy Evans has freakish athleticism but other than that his game is a work in progress. Toure’ Murray showed flashes of potential last season with the Knicks and how badly would it hurt the Knicks if Murray turns into a good NBA player in Brooklyn. If the Nets were to do this deal it would be a move more focused on the future rather than the present. The Nets were interested in Murray last summer and they like Evans’ game and feel that he could help their perimeter defense.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are in win now mode but they are lacking a wing defender. The Cavs have made it known to the public that they are searching to trade for a solid wing defender and that’s what Andrei Kirilenko’s game is all about. Kirilenko predicates himself on being a lockdown defender and that’s what has made him so valuable in the NBA for this long. Dion Waiters is a young and gifted talent who can be a problem in the locker room, but with a team loaded with veterans this Nets team can be a perfect spot for Waiters to fix his attitude. Waiters is only 22 years old and he can contribute now as well as in the future. For his career, Waiters averages 15 points per game and he made the All Rookie First Team in 2013.

This deal was being heavily considered a few days ago but lately talks have started to dwindle. The Nets threw in Karasev to try and entice the 76ers, but the 76ers wanted the Nets to also throw in a future draft pick which was too much for Billy King to give up. Talks can easily start to resurface but at the moment don’t expect this deal to happen. Incase you were wondering, the trade exception that the Nets would receive would be worth $4.9 Million.

Espn’s Marc Stein reported that the deal involving the Nets and the Jazz was the most likely deal to happen, but NetsDaily reported that their are other offers besides the Jazz’s offer on the table that the Nets are currently looking into. A name that has intrigued the Nets is Denver Nuggets power forward Darrell Arthur. Arthur is 26 years old and he could be an additional big that Lionel Hollins would use off of the bench. Arthur is a player that can give solid minutes off of the bench and he can do something that the Nets are lacking rebound the basketball.

NetsDaily also reported that their are other teams who are offering the Nets draft picks for Kirilenko. The Nets are not planning on trading away any draft picks, but acquiring picks for a player that Hollins feels doesn’t fit into the rotation would be a win for the Nets who are all of a sudden starting to look ahead to the future a little bit.
