Kevin Garnett is halfway through what is most likely his final NBA season and the passion and energy is still as strong as it has ever been. Garnett was disappointed with his performance last season and he vowed to be more aggressive this season, Garnett has been more aggressive with the ball in his hands and he has gotten into a few scuffles along the way as well. Garnett’s most important quality to this team is his leadership.
Mason Plumlee has emerged into the Nets starting center and he is progressing at such a rapid rate in large part to tips from his mentor Garnett. Having Garnett help him adjust during his first two seasons has been crucial and although he won’t put up big numbers anymore, that’s what makes Garnett so important to the Nets. Garnett will be even more important during the second half of the season with the playoffs approaching.
