The Latest Brooklyn Nets Trade Rumors

facebooktwitterreddit

The Trade Deadline is vastly approaching and trade rumors are swirling around regarding the Brooklyn Nets. No deal has been made yet but the phones are getting hot and Thursday morning is expected to be action packed and full of drama. Wednesday night started off slow until NetsDaily  hinted that a Woj bomb(Tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski) was going to happen soon. A few rumors came out today and I will review all three of the rumors in this article.

Reggie Jackson to Brooklyn?

Reggie Jackson requested a trade out of Oklahoma City on Wednesday and Espn’s Chad Ford reported that the Nets are a real possibility to land Jackson. The problem with Jackson is that he wants a max contract and the Nets wouldn’t be able to give Jackson the money that he’d be looking for. The Thunder’s interest in Brook Lopez is what makes this potential move make so much sense, but the Nets would want more then just Jackson in exchange for Lopez.

Other teams that have shown interest in Jackson are the Bucks, Rockets, Pacers, Celtics and the Nuggets. Jackson is 24 years old and he has unlimited potential and if any deal happens between Brooklyn and Oklahoma City expect Jackson to be involved.

Joe Johnson to Detroit?

The Detroit Pistons have reached out to the Nets in regards to a deal that would send Joe Johnson to Detroit and Brandon Jennings and expiring contracts to Brooklyn. The official offer that the Pistons are offering the Nets is Brandon Jennings, Jonas Jerebko, Caron Butler and draft picks for Joe Johnson.

There is no word on whether or not the Nets will take the deal, but Joe Johnson is aware that his name is being thrown around in trade rumors.

Kevin Garnett to Minnesota?

Just as we thought all trade rumors were done for the day, Espn reported that the Timberwolves are making a late push to bring Kevin Garnett back to Minnesota to finish off his career where he started. The Timberwolves are reportedly willing to swap Thaddeus Young for Garnett and if both sides agree to a deal, Garnett would have to waive his no trade clause for a deal to go through.

Garnett said last week that he is all in with this current Nets team, but he had no plans of waiving his no trade clause with the Celtics until Brooklyn called so plans can sometimes change. Garnett has aspirations to be apart of the Timberwolves front office, so ending his career with Minnesota could provide a perfect opportunity for Kg to smoothly gain a management role after this season. Again, no deal between these two teams can happen if Garnett doesn’t approve so the power is in his hands.
