The focus has switched in the last couple of season to where Lopez is the face of the Nets. With his 7’0″ 275 lb frame, Lopez could easily be the most physical dominant player on the floor at all times. If he could be more aggressive hitting the boards, it would make him one of the most effective centers in the league. His lackluster efforts rebounding has been the only real criticism when it comes to his overall game.

The expectations for Lopez in the 2015-16 season will once again include the hopes that he will improve on his 7.4 rebounding average last season. In terms of PER, Lopez ranked 21st in comparison with centers around the NBA. Considering he was an All-Star in 2013, you would expect better numbers from Lopez especially becoming the centerpiece of the team.

There is no doubt this season that Lopez will be the go-to player for the Nets. Thinking optimistically, if Lopez knows that he has a point guard that will look to set him up consistently his scoring average could increase by a huge margin. That will be remained to be seen. Either way, the overall success of the Nets will fall on Lopez’s production. Let’s hope he is willing to take on the challenge.
