With the salary cap set to skyrocket following this season, every team in the NBA will have a lot more money to spend in free agency. Although next year’s crop of free agents aren’t the greatest, there are still some pretty good options to consider. The Nets will finally have Joe Johnson’s bloated salary off their books, and they will have a ton of cap room to work with. With holes in almost every area, the Nets need to make a big splash next July. Besides Brook Lopez, the Nets do not have any known commodities after this season.
With a young team set to take the court this year, veteran leadership will be important to add to help the young guys grow and improve. There are good options at every position next offseason, and the Nets will most likely look to sign a bunch of players that can make an immediate impact. While they probably won’t sign superstars like Kevin Durant, there are still plenty of above average players at every position that the team can build around. With that said, here are five players (one per position) that the Nets could possibly sign next offseason that would be a good fit for the team.
