The Nets would be extremely lucky if they were able to sign a guy like Hickson. With the team severely lacking in rebounders and strong, inside scorers, Hickson would be a breath of fresh air in both of those categories. Looking at the Nets roster this season, the only known rebounding commodity is Thomas Robinson, and he does not provide any other skills besides hitting the boards. Brook Lopez is a terrific scorer and defender, but he has proven that he is not a great rebounder and will most likely never be one. Thaddeus Young will be playing at PF this year, but he has never been a rebounder either. And, Andrea Bargnani coming off the bench will not provide any rebounding as well.

So, with the Nets looking to continue to improve their roster, signing a guy like JJ Hickson would help solidify the frontcourt by adding a strong rebounder and defender who has some post moves and can finish strong. Look for the Nets to at least show some interest in Hickson next offseason.
