Point Guard: Jarrett Jack

A career journeyman, Jack has never seemed to be able to lock down a starting role on any team for a long period of time. He has been a lifelong stopgap, and even in Brooklyn, he is probably not the long term answer at the position. With the salary cap set to explode in the offseason, Jack’s starting position for the Nets is already on borrowed time. That being said, Jack adds an element to the Nets offense that Deron Williams never could: speeding up the pace of the game.

Jack has always been excellent at moving the ball quickly down the floor and getting the offense out in transition. Jack has done this for nearly every team he has played for, and it can be very useful if the team has the personnel for it. With the youth that the Nets have on the roster and the athleticism that they will have at every position, a PG that can be elite in transition will be incredibly useful. Jack will go into the season as the unquestioned starter, and it is very unlikely that he will lose that role.
