Where he stacks up (Wing): ADP 129 Gerald Henderson ADP 128: Kevin Martin
Notable Wing Player Ranked Below: ADP 158 Harrison Barnes
Conclusion: The projections seem on target here. They may even be a bit gracious when it comes to his assist and rebound averages. For the last decade, Johnson has been a guy that can put stats up in every category. However, he is definitely set to regress a lot this season, so be cautious of overdrafting him on name alone.
Johnson is a middle-of-the-road player now, but many people without up-to-date information might pull the trigger too early based on his long and decorated career. Avoid falling into this trap. If he’s available at 134, maybe wait an additional round before grabbing him. Don’t reach for a fading veteran.
