One word to describe his season: Fantastic

Shane Larkin has been the Nets most pleasant surprise so far this season. He has been terrific in his backup point guard role – so well that many Nets fans are calling for him to start.

Larkin’s mix of extreme athleticism, killer quickness, sharp outside shooting and ability to constantly play his tail off has made him a fan favorite quickly. He’s played extraordinarily well whenever he’s had his number called, either to spell Jarrett Jack and give him some rest, or to come in and help carry the Nets down the stretch of a close game.

Larkin’s flashed a lot of big play ability this season. When the Nets are in need of a big bucket, it seems that Larkin is involved in some fashion. He’s also been by far the best shooter on the Nets this season, shooting a gaudy 48% from three.

Larkin has been everything the Nets hoped, and more, since signing him this offseason. The 23-year-old still has room to grow, and looks like he’s definitely a keeper as the Nets look to build a team to compete in the future. A very nice get for Billy King.
