Beau Beech was one of the pleasant surprises Brooklyn received in the Summer League. A 6’9 shooting guard in college, Beech enjoyed a successful college career at North Florida. Brooklyn viewed primarily as a stretch four, and in that role, Beech brought excitement in his microwave style of play.

Beech showed off a beautiful three-point shot, with the ability to heat up quickly. As a whole, Beech shot just 33% from range throughout the Summer League, but his ability to get his shot off quickly and heat up in a matter of seconds caught everyone’s attention.

The 22-year-old also displayed a good mind for the game. He made timely cuts and had a knack for getting good balls. Where he struggles, though, is with his athleticism and defensively. He lacks quickness to stay in front of opponents on the defensive end, and he got exposed a few times, particularly in the final loss to Cleveland.

Overall, Beech was one of the more impressive Summer Nets, especially among those who did not have a roster spot. His play perhaps caught the attention of fans and one would assume, the front office and coaching staff as well. He’s likely a candidate to get a training camp invite.
