3. Kenny Anderson, 1993-96

As a two-year guard at Georgia Tech, Kenny Anderson was one of the most talented players in the 1991 draft class, and the Nets were fortunate enough to grab him with their second overall pick that year. The four-and-a-half years spent with the franchise were the best of his career, and Mr. Chibbs was a truly dynamic point guard–he scored in bunches, created great opportunities for teammates, and was a pesky defender who always had hands in the passing lane.

Anderson was one of five players to average at least 15 points, seven assists, and 1.5 steals over a four-year span from 1991 to 1995, further justifying his explosiveness. He earned his first and only All-Star appearance in 1994 and finished top-10 in assists per game three times with the Nets. Anderson began to fall off once he was traded, and he was actually a piece in the trade that landed Gill with the Nets. Although he hasn’t suited up for the franchise since the mid-90s, Anderson is still the third-leading passer in Nets history with 2,363 assists.
