By Tj Porreca
The Nets have had some prolific play at the point guard position throughout the franchise’s history. But who are the top five point guards to suit up for the Nets?
The Brooklyn Nets have had many terrific players throughout the franchise’s history. The team has possessed quality players through generations, and some of their best players have suited up at the guard spots.
For this list, we will focus on players who primarily played point guard throughout their respective tenures with the Nets.
With that in mind, some of the best players to ever don Nets’ jerseys, such as Julius Erving, Vince Carter and Drazen Petrovic will have to be left off this list. Those three, among others, are in the conversation for an All-Time Nets team, but this list will break down the top players to run the point in Nets history.
Point guard play has changed recently in the NBA. The three-point shot is more prevalent now than ever before, and it’s reflecting in how point guards play. Nevertheless, the players on the list won’t be judged by today’s standard of a point guard, but rather what they brought to the team during their time with the Nets.
This list will contain some players who were fixtures and others who simply made a stop in their career with the Nets. Each of the following players impacted the franchise in their own way.
