Although up-tempo offense would work with the Nets, their best player would suffer from it. Of course, the Nets should still run some sort of offense. And if Atkinson wants his young players to develop, they will have to learn team basketball. Their offense would be centered around Brook Lopez, who could post up and either score or kick it out to a shooter. Lopez would be playing a very similar role to Al Horford in Atlanta.

The difference is Lopez is without a doubt the number one option for the Nets. In a way, it is good Atkinson has a clear cut idea of where his offense will come from. Unfortunately, the problem is the talent declines tremendously after Lopez. It is not clear yet who the Nets’ number two option will be, but he will be nowhere near as good as Lopez.
