Jeremy Lin is locked in as the Nets starting point guard for now. Lin’s job will be to control the pace and make sure the ball gets to where it needs to be. As stated earlier, there will be times where the Nets should push the tempo to run teams off the floor. Atkinson needs to find the right balance of a set offense and pushing the tempo. It will be Lin’s job to make sure the Nets are playing at the pace Atkinson wants.

In Atlanta, this was Jeff Teague‘s duty. Teague is without a doubt a much better player than Lin. If Lin can focus on distributing the ball and controlling the tempo, he will do just fine. Additionally, Lin will have to pick and choose when to shoot. Too many shots will result in lost possessions.
