Brooklyn Nets 2016: Year in Review
By Zach Cronin
Beau Beech, Jorge Gutierrez, Yogi Ferrell, Chase Budinger, Egidijus Mockevicius
The five guys listed above haven’t spent much time with the team, and four of them didn’t even suit up for a game — Yogi Ferrell played in ten and had a nice spot in the rotation as the backup point guard until Isaiah Whitehead came along.
None of the other guys played well enough in training camp to secure a spot. Beau Beech is a sharpshooter out of North Florida, and one would think he’d make the roster because of his ability to stretch the floor. Nope. He was radically inconsistent over the summer and got outplayed by the guys who showed their versatility. Egidijus Mockevicius, another rookie, looked like he had a chance to make the team since he was a dominant force on the glass with Evansville.

Both Jorge Gutierrez and Chase Budinger would’ve been on the end of the bench had they made the team. Even though the former had spent time with the Nets a few years ago, he hadn’t made any significant strides in his game. Budinger is much of the same, but he’s spent more time in the league bouncing around.
