Brooklyn Nets Midseason Grades: Front Court Edition
By Tj Porreca
Simply stated, Trevor Booker has been an excellent acquisition for the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn signed Booker to a two-year deal this past offseason, and Booker has come aboard and had the best season of his career to this point.
Booker is a mainstay at power forward, and he is putting up the best numbers of his career midway through this season. In 37 games, Booker is averaging 10.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Booker is averaging 27.4 minutes per game, which, as of now, is the highest of his career.
Booker leads the Nets in rebounds per game by a wide margin. While Booker averages 8.9, Brook Lopez is a distant second, at 5.0 per game. But Booker brings more than scoring and rebounding.

In Booker, the Nets have someone who hustles. Someone who can bring the ball up the court on a fast break or chase down a fast break resulting in a block on the other end of the floor. Booker is a high-effort player. His constant effort in the paint is a big reason why he’s able to average nearly double-digits in rebounds.
Booker, along with Brook Lopez, has been a staple in the Nets’ lineup this season. There are still 41 games left to be played, but as of this point, Booker has been one of Brooklyn’s best players this season.
