Isaiah Whitehead

Brooklyn native Isaiah Whitehead saw a dream come true on draft night. The Utah Jazz decided to trade down to the 55th pick and receive cash from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange MUfor the 42nd pick, which turned out to be Whitehead.

A star at Seton Hall, Whitehead is a great shooter that can put up points in a hurry. He played a little point guard in his collegiate days and it is clear he still needs work when you see him run the point in the NBA.

Despite his learning curve, Whitehead has been a solid replacement for Lin during his absence. Whitehead is averaging nearly three assists per game plus seven points per game. He could not find his shot for a large part of the early season, but has started to find it slowly but surely.

Whitehead shows heart and fight every time he is on the floor and has great floor command through his work early on in the season. It is clear that he has matured into a solid NBA player and helps shine the light for Nets fans in the future.

Whitehead has actually lost his starting position to Spencer Dinwiddie of late, but many fans think Whitehead should play over Dinwiddie. It is not that Dinwiddie has played poorly, it is just that the fans love what Whitehead brings to the table; command and energy.

Whitehead deserves to see the floor as often as he possibly could. He has grown a lot already this season, and the more time he plays and runs the point, the better he will become. Whitehead will blossom into a good NBA player if he can get the minutes he deserves.
