Acquire Depth

If there’s one thing the Nets have had this season it’s a great bench. Despite having a historically bad season and currently holding a 9-47 record going into the All Star Break and Trade Deadline, the Nets has actually been top 3 in the NBA throughout the season.

The reason may be because of the fact that they have used plenty of different lineups, have had a number of different injuries, and more than 15 different players suit up in a Brooklyn jersey this season. From the likes of Randy Foye to Joe Harris and even Luis Scola, everyone has contributed.

That being said maybe it would smart to make trades to gain plenty of depth and continue to gain quality minutes from every single body that they have on their roster. That is if they plan on winning more than 10-12 games this season.

Or we could see the complete opposite from this and we could see Sean Marks pull a fast one and trade these players for assets, (even more) cap space, and of course draft picks.

If the Nets go this route it may be a good idea to get players who have shown talent but are in a bad or disappointing situation with their current team, guys like Jahlil Okafor and Mario Hezonja. Much like two seasons ago we see plenty of players unhappy with their current situation which can lead to, much like two seasons ago as well, a huge trade deadline shakeup.

If Marks is eager to make trades come next week, it’s safe to say that anyone and everyone (except the rooks and young guys) will be available in trade talks.
