Ranking Sean Marks’ Free Agent Signings of the 2016-17 Season
1. Trevor Booker
2016-2017 Season Stats: 53 GP, 10.3 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 2.2 APG
Trevor Booker was signed to start alongside Brook Lopez and create a front-court that could dominate opponents. Booker has started a majority of the games this season, but has recently been asked to come off the bench. Much like Foye, he’s a veteran that has done what he has been asked without a complaint.
Since the move to the bench, Booker has flourished with the second unit. His ability to score against backups is at times unfair. He hustles hard to keep plays alive and crashes the offensive glass. His biggest asset is his athleticism, which allows him to throw down highlight reel dunks at least once a game.

He brings the same tenacity on defense that he does on offense. He never takes a play off, and his motor makes him a thorn in any defender’s side. His strength and athleticism allow him to match up against bigger opponents and still play effective defense.
Booker is putting up career-highs in almost every statistical category this season, but his effect goes far beyond statistics. His energy and swagger resonates with the team and gives them confidence. It doesn’t matter if the Nets are winning by 10 or down 20 points, he brings the same level of energy all the time.

Booker is a player who will probably have his name circulated around in trade rumors next season. As the Nets continue to rebuild, veteran power forwards may bring more value in the market than the court. Until then, he has and will continue to be the Nets’ best free agent signing of the 2016-17 season.
