Archie Goodwin has struggled to find a home in the NBA, but might be closer to finding one after signing his second 10-day deal with the Brooklyn Nets.

On Saturday morning, the Brooklyn Nets announced they have signed combo guard Archie Goodwin to his second 10-day contract.

So far, Goodwin has played in four games with the team and impressed many. He averaged nine points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 13.8 minutes per game during his first 10 days as a Brooklyn Net.

During the stretch of his first 10-day contract, Goodwin was vocal about how much he wants to be a part of the Nets and their future. Before Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, he spoke to NetsDaily and talked about his familiarity with the Nets before joining the team.

"“When I first got here I told Sean Marks ‘You know from the beginning of the season I’ve watched your team play.’ To be truthful, I watched 90 percent of their games, the other ones I couldn’t watch because I was playing in Greensboro.”"

More from Nothin' But Nets

Goodwin has evidently had a difficult time remaining in one place in the NBA. He was drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2013 before being traded to the Golden State Warriors and finally, the Phoenix Suns, all in the same night. The combo guard has played 157 games so far in his career, all coming as a member of the Brooklyn Nets, New Orleans Pelicans and Phoenix Suns.

So, it isn’t hard to see why Goodwin is determined to be a part of the long-term picture in Brooklyn after being passed up by multiple teams.

"“I’m obviously blessed to be here just to get the opportunity to play in the NBA for a team with the situation that I really want to be a part of that’s going in the right direction for the future. I really can’t ask for anything else so I’m just trying to play my part, be the best teammate I can be and be effective when I’m on the court.”"

At only 22 years old, Goodwin is still young and can be a big part of the Nets’ youth movement. It’s safe to assume with about three weeks remaining in the NBA’s regular season, he will most likely stick around following his second 10-day contract.

It’s unclear how much of a future Goodwin has with the Nets and how long he will be with the team. However, one thing’s for sure, with the Nets needing to acquire as much talent as they can in order to improve and with two first-round picks in this year’s draft alone, Goodwin is going to have to continue to hustle and show what he can do in order to claim his rightful spot on the 15-man roster.
