The Brooklyn Nets currently have two first-round picks in the 2017 NBA Draft. This draft could shape what Brooklyn basketball looks like for years to come.

The Brooklyn Nets’ two first-round picks will likely land somewhere in the 20s. If Billy King did not make such an atrocious trade that gave the Boston Celtics the right to swap picks, the Nets could be have been considering Lonzo Ball, Markelle Fultz and Jayson Tatum. However, General Manager Sean Marks will have to work with what he has.

Seemingly, every media outlet that does a mock draft has a different duo going to Brooklyn in the first round. Some mock drafts have the Nets picking one international player or a possible “euro-stash” with one of the first-round picks, and a college prospect with the other.

There is no real consensus on who the Nets will select because no one besides the general manager really has any idea who is even considered a legitimate draft prospect. However, the players who are taken in the first round of this year’s draft should be part of the foundation of Brooklyn basketball for the foreseeable future.
