Key Plays
It was the battle of the bigs early at the Barclays Center. Brook Lopez and Dwight Howard dueled. Howard looked dominant early, owning the paint. Lopez scored an astounding 18 first quarter points on three shots from three-point land. The Nets and Hawks kept the game close in the second quarter, with Lopez showing his point-center abilities. The Nets ended the first half ahead, 46-43. It was social media night for the Nets, so that was super cool.

The bench was not a factor for most of the first half, going into the third. Howard had cooled down during the third, and the Nets were able to maintain their cushion. Lopez had another point guard-like pass and a big block. Caris LeVert had a fast break dunk. By the end of three quarters, Lopez and Jeremy Lin had 25 points and 12 points, respectively, with only four points from the bench. They ended the quarter up, 70-61.
Early in the final quarter, the Nets started to pull away. They led by as many as 15 points in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter. A Trevor Booker three put the Nets up by 15, but he quickly committed his fifth foul afterwards. But the Hawks were able to claw back, bringing the lead to as little as double digits. With under two minutes left, the Hawks brought the game back to four points on free throws by Taurean Prince. The Nets were able to stay the course, capped off by a huge Booker dunk with 28 seconds left in the game. The Brooklyn chants were heard echoing through the Barclays Center as the game closed.
