Otto Porter

Otto Porter has finally arrived.  After the Washington Wizards selected Porter with the third overall pick in the 2013 draft, hope diminished quickly.  In his first year with the club, he averaged just 2,1 points per game.  In his sophomore year, he averaged six points per game.  By his third year, he showed signs of life by averaging 11.6 points per game.  However, his ceiling appeared low.

Now, in his fourth year, Porter is breaking out and has become a vital part to the Wizards’ success.  He is averaging a career-high in several major statistical categories and plays strong defense.  Posting 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, Porter also shoots 43 percent from three.  The 6-foot-8 forward measures up as the perfect wing for the modern NBA.

At just 23 years old, Porter not only has the IQ, shooting and defensive tenacity the Nets need, but he also has three years of playoff experience under his belt.  With Rondae Hollis-Jefferson potentially working as a modern era power forward and Caris LeVert coming off a strong rookie campaign, Porter fits perfectly.  If the Nets can swing a starting lineup of three players under the age of 25 that play both sides of the ball next to Jeremy Lin and Brook Lopez, things could get fun fast.
