J.J. Moore

J.J. Moore played his first three college seasons at Pittsburgh before transferring to Rutgers. The 6-foot-6 small forward became a Scarlet Knight for more playing time his senior year. In 33 games (30 starts), Moore averaged 11.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 26.6 minutes for Rutgers.

Moore went undrafted and decided to play in Mexico until he went to a try-out for the Long Island Nets. In 46 games (23 starts), he averaged 14.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assist. He shot 49.6 percent from the field and 32 percent from deep for Long Island.

Beech and Hunter could get called up for their shooting, and Alexander and Burrell for their production and versatility. Moore defines Brooklyn Grit. That may sound corny or cliche, but it is the truth. Moore’s resume shows he has a passion for basketball and just wants the opportunity, something that both Atkinson and Marks have respected in the past.

The chances of Moore getting called up are indeed a long shot, but then again, so was him playing professionally.
