Free Agent centers for the Brooklyn Nets to consider
By Enoch Davy
Kelly Olynyk
Brooklyn can never be judged if they refused to do business with the Boston Celtics organization again (and we all know why). That said, Kelly Olynyk is an intriguing prospective free agent. Olynyk is fresh from the playoff demolition by the Cavaliers heading into restrictive free agency. Olynyk is a versatile backup big and is forecasted to be one for a very long time.
Kelly Olynyk is the son of a coach (who once cut Steve Nash from Canada’s Junior National Team). Coming off a season which Olynyk ranked 23rd in defensive win shares among all centers, means he is now a valued commodity as a restricted free agent.
Three-point shooting and strong physical defense are the Olynyk calling cards. Olynyk shot 35.7 percent from three last season, down from 40 percent the previous one. Keep in mind, Olynyk is only 25 years old, making it very possible that his best is yet to come.
