Free Agent centers for the Brooklyn Nets to consider

Larry Sanders
Larry Sanders returned to the NBA after a two-year hiatus. Sanders received an opportunity from the defending NBA champion Cavaliers following Tristan Thompson’s injury. However, he played two minutes and his return lasted only five games. Cavaliers General Manager David Griffin cited a lack of fitness as the primary reason for Sanders not being able to contribute a bit more.
Sanders is a rim running defender. During his first stint in the NBA he led the league in blocks. The former Virginia Commonwealth University Ram averaged three blocks per game during the 2012-2013 season.
His offense isn’t quite at the level of his defense. Sanders was always limited to production in the paint. He was effective as a finisher at the rim but never ventured far beyond the paint. Sanders is certainly not considered a modern center. He has never attempted a 3-pointer in his career.

Heading into this off-season Sanders may get offers. He is still just 28 years old and his athleticism is evident. Sanders provides a team with defensive presence, notably rebounding and shot-blocking. He is the perfect foil for Lopez and most certainly has an affordable price tag.
