Chandler Parsons

Since Chandler Parsons is owed 23+ million dollars next season, the Memphis Grizzlies may be prepared to move on from him if it seems like he won’t immediately help in their quest for a championship. When relatively healthy he puts up a respectable stat line, but health is something that he has been missing over the past couple years.

Health is something the Nets have shown they aren’t afraid of though since they know great doctors, as seen with risky pick of Caris LeVert and their trust behind Brook Lopez despite his foot problems. Even if he can’t play, the largest asset that comes with Parsons is his recruiting ability, which brought Dwight Howard to Houston and almost brought DeAndre Jordan to Dallas. In Brooklyn where the landscape is void of star-power free agents, Parsons ability to real in young (and) proven stars may be worth the cost even if he can’t stay on the court.

Finally comes the Grizzlies price tag for taking the monstrous contract. The Grizzlies lack the necessary draft capital that is usually required with these sorts of deals, but what they do have is something that the nets crave: Young, promising players. For Parsons to move it would require some combination of Wade Baldwin IV, Deyonta Davis, and/or Jarell  Martin and a far away draft pick or 2 (around 2020) could entice the Nets enough to bite.
