Small Forwards

Robert Covington – 26 years old, 12.9 PPG, 1.5 APG, 6.5 RPG

Robert Covington barely qualifies as a veteran, but he’s still older than most of the current Nets roster. With good size and constant improvement with the Philadelphia 76ers over the past three seasons, he’s an intriguing player.

He’s another player on this list that can shoot the three with above average accuracy. He experienced a down year this season, shooting 33.3%, but has a career average of 35.5% from three. Covington can be another weapon in the free-flow Nets’ offense that spreads the floor and scores at a high rate.

Danilo Gallinari – 28 years old, 18.2 PPG, 2.1 APG, 5.2 RPG

Gallinari may be close to, or already signed by another team by the time this article comes out, but there’s no doubt that he is one of the great scorers in the league. His “Achilles heel” has always been his constant struggle with staying healthy.

A career 37.0% three-point shooter, Gallinari is one of the most lethal shooters in the NBA. He has good ball handling skills and uses his size to take players off the dribble and finish at the basket. He would become the top scoring option in Brooklyn if they were to lure him to the team.

Gerald Green – 31 years old, 5.6 PPG, 0.7 APG, 1.8 RPG

Gerald Green has had a good career since the Nets signed him in 2011 from the Russian team he spent two years playing on. His hustle and ability to make highlight reel dunks made him a fan favorite and revived his career in the NBA.

Since then, he’s been an established role player off the bench with his best two seasons coming from his time with the Phoenix Suns. He’s still a good athlete with enough skills to help the Nets have a deeper bench rotation.
