Milton Doyle was the first player signed to a Summer League deal by the Brooklyn Nets. He plays an NBA game, and many are anxious to see how he fares in Vegas.

Doyle is a scoring guard who primarily plays on the wing. He has a 6’7″ wingspan that helps him on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he’s able to operate in 1-on-1 situations with efficiency. If he’s being defended by a smaller guard, he can rise up and over the defender with ease. Defensively, he plays passing lanes aggressively, which can lead to steals and fastbreaks. He averaged 1.8 steals per game last year.

When evaluating Doyle’s game, there is no glaring weakness. He isn’t the fastest player on the court, but he makes up for his lack of speed with good length and instincts.

He shot 44% from the field as a senior at Loyola. The Nets would like to see that number increase if he wants a spot on the roster moving forward.

Doyle, who was the star of his collegiate team, would be an ideal role player in the NBA. He can defend multiple positions and can score in multiple ways. He would need to spend some time with Long Island, but he plays an NBA game, and it wouldn’t take him long to ‘figure it out.’

Keep an eye on Milton Doyle tonight.
