The Brooklyn Nets were the worst team in the NBA last season and look to improve on their 20-62 record with an infusion of talent.

On the Brooklyn Nets, there is no position that is safe. The theme of the franchise is #BrooklynGrit and that means that all members of the franchise have to work hard. This theme has now created a culture that the franchise hopes will attract more talent to want to play in Brooklyn in the future.

Out of last year’s most successful starting lineup of Jeremy Lin, Randy Foye, Caris LeVert, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Brook Lopez, only three players remain. In a series of trades, the Nets traded away the team’s leading scorer, Lopez, and added talented players.

These trades will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the team and what its new starting lineup will look like. General manager Sean Marks brought in younger players such as D’Angelo Russell and Allen Crabbe and veterans DeMarre Carroll and Timofey Mozgov  to shake up one of the worst rosters in the league.

With additions come subtractions on the roster. Brooklyn did not resign veteran Randy Foye and waived both KJ McDaniels and Archie Goodwin. Foye under-performed last season while both McDaniels and Goodwin played limited minutes and did not do enough to be brought back.

Are any of these players good enough to dethrone the current players on the roster that would have occupied starting positions? Here are the position battles in each position on the roster and the players most likely to win out.
