Last year’s Nets posted a dismal 20-win season. While this team failed to acquire its highly sought after free agent, Otto Porter, they did add plenty of other talent across the board.

But the Nets, by default, were winners this offseason. They can thank the Western Conference for robbing the East of of some of their All Stars. This season, the seventh and eighth spots might go to a low 30-win team, which has not happened since 1988.

The Nets surely did enough this offseason to challenge for this spot. If all pans out, this team will still be playing into late April. Atkinson, for the first time in Brooklyn, has a team with potential, talented shooters and gritty defenders. It should be an entertaining season in Brooklyn as the future is starting to look brighter.
