After the Brooklyn Nets’ successful summer, the season is approaching fast. However, the Nets still need more talent at the center position.
The Brooklyn Nets made plenty of moves this summer to acquire more assets and talent than they had previously. But it seems general manager Sean Marks has upgraded every position on the roster except for one, center.
While the Nets gained a highly-touted D’Angelo Russell, it came at the cost of franchise center Brook Lopez. Although they will regain a healthy Jeremy Lin for the upcoming season, along with Allen Crabbe, DeMarre Carroll and Timofey Mozgov, losing your best player is always tough.
Having averaged over 13 less points per game than Lopez last season Mozgov isn’t a likely candidate to be “the guy” in Brooklyn. Not too mention he isn’t an “iron man” candidate having played only 54 games last season. The Nets may need to find other options at the center position.
The Nets drafted center Jarrett Allen out of the University of Texas and many see him as a steal. But some believe he just isn’t ready to jump into the NBA game just yet. With that said, it’s clear that the Nets are in need of another player at the center spot for the time being.
