Brooklyn Nets: The top Nets games to watch for this season
February 2nd – Brook Lopez’s return to Brooklyn
Return games have been interesting the last few seasons for the Nets. We saw Deron Williams’ Mavericks take down the Nets in an overtime thriller. We also saw Joe Johnson hit a dagger that gave the Utah Jazz a victory earlier this year in Brooklyn. So what can we expect this time around? Uncertainty
While the other two players previously mentioned along with Lopez are no longer with the team, Williams is the only one Nets fans were angered by. There was no love or warm welcome for Williams, only resent and hatred.
With Joe Johnson, the Nets gave him a nice tribute and fans gave him a warm welcome and standing ovation. Expect the same with Lopez.
This should be an awesome night and awesome game taking place on that Friday night at Barclays. It will be only the second time D’Angelo Russell faces his former team. Also, it will also be Lopez’s first time in the visiting team’s locker room at Barclays Center.
Don’t be surprised if you see a number of Lopez jerseys in the crowd that night. Whether Black and white or purple and gold, the Nets all-time leading scorer will surely be receiving love from both sides of the crowd. With much emotion in the crowd that night, as well as a marquee matchup between Ball and Russell, this one is surely one of the most anticipated games on the Nets 2017-18 calender.
