Honorable mention: Eastern and Western Conference champs back-to-back

Alas Nets fans, for the second year in a row the Nets will face the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers in back to back games. Now, unlike last year, this season’s contests aren’t actually occurring in back-to-back days.

For those of you that were unfamiliar with this or have forgotten, (most Nets fans have probably chosen to forget) the Nets faced the Golden State Warriors on a Thursday night in Brooklyn before facing the Cleveland Cavaliers the very next night in Cleveland. The Nets will do the same this season, only with two full days to rest in between each game.

The reason this is an honorable mention is because many Nets fan aren’t sure if this team can keep up or even put up much of a fight with either team. I had to mention these games for one reason however. Reason being is we have seen this occur for two straight seasons now and it is rather interesting.

I believe no other team in the NBA actually has to face this two powerhouses in back-to-back games. So here is once again a strange reoccurance appearing in the Nets schedule.

Either the Nets can pull off a big win or just get two of the five combined games they play against these contenders out of the way.

It’s also fair to mention we will get the chance to see how the Nets young core can play against guys like Steph Curry, LeBron James and Kevin Durant, which can be huge confidence boosters and steps forward for some of the guys on the team. Don’t expect much from the Nets in either game, but at least look at both optimistically.
