1. Brook Lopez Passes Buck Williams as the Nets All-Time Scoring Leader

Speaking of Brook Lopez, did I mention that he is one of the best scoring centers in the game? Well, he is, and he showed it time and time again while wearing a Nets uniform. He did it so well, that he climbed up the Nets ladder of all-time leading scorers.

Now the Nets have had some great players in their history and some relentless scorers to go along with it. Greats such as Vince Carter, Jason Kidd, Drazen Petrovic and even Julius “Dr. J” Erving have donned the Nets name on their jerseys.

But only one had the honor of being the best scorer in franchise history, Buck Williams. Since 1989, Williams held the record for most points all-time. He scored10,440 points while playing eight seasons with the Nets.

With the great players that have come and gone, it seemed like it would be a long time until someone finally broke the record. And it certainly wouldn’t be a center in a time where the value of post-up centers is at its all-time low.

Well it was, and it happened on April 10, 2017 in Boston, in a game that the Nets would ultimately lose, but none of that mattered. Lopez passed Williams late in the game and set the new record at 10,444 points.

In what may be bittersweet at this point, all of Lopez’s hard work paid off as he etched his name in Nets lore forever. He endured terrible seasons and playoff success during his time in a Nets uniform and he will always be remembered as one of the all-best in franchise history.
