10. Jeremy Lin’s First Game

When general manager Sean Marks pulled off the deal to get Jeremy Lin, the Nets’ fan base grew exponentially. The “Lin Army” has migrated with him to every stop in his career and they made no exception with Brooklyn.

The anticipation was palpable, as fans dubbed the duo of Lin and Brook Lopez as Brook-Lin. Fans hoped that the two players would have instant chemistry and would use the pick-and-roll often.

The dream started in Boston on Oct. 26 at the TD Garden. The Nets squared off against the Celtics and played a tough game against the eventual first seed in the Eastern Conference. It was time for Lin to shine and for the Nets to see the future of their team.

Fans weren’t disappointed. Lin put up 18 points on 6-for-14 shooting to go along with three assists and three rebounds. The Nets lost the game, but Lin showed the scoring prowess and ability to run the offense.

Unfortunately, nagging injuries would keep Lin sidelined for majority of the year. While he played well when he was healthy, fans barely got to see him play. It would be unfair to to him judge his performances.

With Lopez now gone, fans will never get to realize the dream of seeing Brook-Lin run at its full capacity. But Lin should still be able to build off the limited time he did play. His first game was a nice moment. Fans look forward to seeing him healthy and on the floor all season in 2017.
