4. Randy Foye’s Game Winning Buzzer Beater vs the Hornets

Randy Foye had a cup of tea with the Brooklyn Nets last season, but wasn’t brought back for this upcoming season. But he knew his role and filled it well as a player/mentor/coach for the young squad.

Foye knew that 2016 was going to be tough year for the Nets. But he remained a good soldier and did whatever Atkinson asked of him. He started, came off the bench, sat out games, played long minutes or limited minutes, all for the sake of making the players around him better.

Although his time in Brooklyn isn’t career-defining, he did have a memorable play that he is sure to never forget. It was an early season game, right after Christmas Day, where the Nets were struggling and could use a holiday gift.

With the Nets’ season tumbling out of control, they found themselves in a tough game against the upstart Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets figured that they would waltz through Brooklyn and pick up an easy win, but the Nets gave them all they could handle.

Down by a point with 2.3 seconds left in the game, the Nets had an inbound play set up to try and win the game. Foye caught the ball off the inbound at the top of the three-point line. He took one dribble, threw up a jumper and hit the buzzer beating shot.

Highlights like this were far and few for the Nets this past season, but this moment was great for both the team and Foye.
