Allen Crabbe donated a shuffleboard to the Red Hook Initiative. The Brooklyn-based charity looks to encourage social change and empower youth. While at the charity, Crabbe had a chance to answer some questions from a few lucky kids.

The biggest question of the day was an innocuous, “who’s your favorite player of all-time.” With Allen Crabbe, the choices are endless. Would he pick the Greatest of all time in Michael Jordan? Perhaps he would go with Magic Johnson or Larry Bird? Crabbe was a 90’s Kid, and who was bigger in the 90’s than Shaquille O’Neal?

Crabbe’s answer? None of those I just mentioned. He did, however, pick a former teammate of the Big Diesel.

The Brooklyn Nets’ three-point maestro picked…drum roll, please…Kobe Bryant! The Los Angeles Lakers legend was coming into the league as Crabbe was growing up so it is not surprising.

For those of you that have been living under rocks for the past 12 years, Kobe Bryant is one of the best shooting guards of all-time. The Lower Merion High School product is a five-time NBA champion, two-time Finals MVP and 11-time All-NBA First Team member.

Bryant is famous for having some of the most iconic games in the league’s history. Who can ever forget the 81-point game? And when he dropped 60 points in his final game ever? That is what legends are made of.

Bryant was one of the most iconic basketball players of the late 90’s, 2000’s and 2010’s. While he was in his older days when Crabbe entered the league, Bryant was still regarded as one of the NBA’s deadliest players.

However, it is kind of funny how different the two’s games are. Bryant was an attacker, constantly looking for ways to get around his opponents. Crabbe, on the other hand, mostly tries to make it rain from three. But hey, a favorite player is a favorite player.
