4. DeMarre Carroll

DeMarre Carroll was considered a salary dump entering the season. He proved he is not a salary dump and instead is a team leader.

Carroll who is the second oldest Net, provided veteran leadership to his young Nets teammates and helped them develop into better players. He never let his team give up towards the end. He pushed his teammates to end the season strong which they did winning five of their last ten games.

Along with his valuable veteran leadership, Carroll played the best basketball of his career last season. He used every-part of the court and strengthened his three-ball. He shot the three-ball with extreme confidence and precision.

The eight-year veteran averaged 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds this past season. Those yearly stats nearly doubled his career averages.

On the defensive end, Carroll was the floor general. He would consistently help on switches and double teaming while telling his Nets teammates where to go. He was not afraid to defend bigger players and guarded them well.
