The Brooklyn Nets selected Dzanan Musa with the 29th overall pick and, while a project, his skill set fits nicely with the Nets philosophy and style of play
Say what you want about the Brooklyn Nets, but one thing general manager Sean Marks is not is a fool. During the NBA Draft last week, Nets fans were on the lookout for a potential trade to move up in the draft to select a potential well-known player to help.
As the night went on, trade news died down and it looked like the Nets were staying at the 29th spot in the draft.

The Nets ended up selecting Bosnian forward Dzanan Musa in a pick that surprised a lot of people. The 6-foot-9 small forward, who just turned 19 last month, is described as a shooter who can play both the 2 or the 3 and handle the ball.
Musa said after he was drafted that it was his dream to play in the NBA and he is ready to get to work during the Summer League and training camp.
He is a great fit for this Nets team because of his ability to play on the perimeter and ball-handling skills in the Nets position-less style of play. Musa has been playing professionally since he was 16 years old and has played tough competition in Europe.
Musa is only 195 pounds and looks forward to gaining more weight before the season starts. He also looks to improve on his defense to guard NBA-level talent.
Musa will fit well with the Nets. Though he may not have a spot in the rotation to start out the season, he is in the perfect place to get better and develop.
His versatility on the offensive end will help guys like D’Angelo Russell and Caris LeVert and his ability to handle the ball gives head coach Kenny Atkinson plenty of options on offense.
If the Nets wish to hold Musa out of Summer League competition for rest, then it would be the perfect time for him to get acquainted with the Brooklyn Nets practice facilities before training camp starts.
