Jordan McLaughlin, PG (2017-18 team: USC Trojans)

Jordan McLaughlin was a four-year starter at the point for USC, culminating in a senior season in 2017-18 in which he led the Pac-12 with an average of 7.8 assists per game.

A bit undersized at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, McLaughlin also averaged 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 steals in 35.3 minutes per game last season on a slash line of .482/.397/.746.

That is right in line with career marks of 12.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.7 steals in 33.5 minutes while shooting .439/.379/.738.

According to NBA Scouting Live, McLaughlin can shoot well off the catch and scores well off the bounce, is fair defensively and is a good creator.

However, he can get careless at the offensive end and commit unforced turnovers and gets passive at time, content to move the ball around the perimeter rather than attack.

Undrafted, McLaughlin may not be able to fit into the crowded point guard rotation for the Brooklyn Nets, but the Summer League could serve as an audition for him to try and catch a training camp invite somewhere else.

He did excel at a pre-draft workout, but not enough to get onto the draft board.

Kamari Murphy, SF (2017-18 team: Long Island Nets)

Born in Brooklyn, Kamari Murphy was undrafted in 2017 out of the Univeristy of Miami and spent the 2017-18 season with the Long Island Nets in the G-League.

Murphy played with the Brooklyn Nets in the 2017 Summer League, averaging 1.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 10.5 minutes per game. He was just 3-for-11 from the floor, missed his only 3-pointer and never got to the foul line in four games.

He went on to start 48 of the 50 games he played with Long Island, averaging 10.4 points and 7.4 rebounds in 31.4 minutes per game on .436/.281/.706 shooting.

Murphy showed a knack at the defensive end in the G-League — a rarity in a league that still has a bit of a reputation for guys trying to score their way to the NBA. He was third in the G-League with 2.7 defensive win shares and posted the fifth-best defensive rating in the circuit at 103.5 points per 100 possessions.

The downside for Murphy is he will be 25 years old in December. He was a four-year collegian who sat out the 2014-15 season after transferring from Oklahoma State to Miami.
